On Saturday OSA FC’s women’s team had a preseason friendly game against Seattle University at Championship field, a first test run for the before the season begins.
The final score was 2-0 for the SU team, but Head Coach Malia was satisfied by her team’s performance. Here is her take on the game: “It was a good game, I was happy with how the women played against a very strong Seattle U team. I thought our team did a good job dealing with their pace up front and with their athleticism overall. We had a couple good opportunities in the 2nd half but they couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. We went down a goal about half way through the 2nd half and unfortunately let a 2nd goal in in the final 2 minutes of the game.
It was great preparation for us and gave us a good picture of what we need to keep working on as a group. Overall the pre-season game was a success in my mind.”
The team will have two more scrimmages over the next weeks in order to get ready for the beginning of the season that will be on Saturday May 21st in Vancouver.
Keep following the team!
