Tukwila – Last night was a good one! OSA FCT 253 won over Fuerza FC 8-1, getting back into their rhythm of play. What a win! Eight goals for the OSA women’s team, and only one goal against. The game highlighted OSA FCT tough defensive line, as well as their tough attacking line. The other strong Northwest team, Issaquah soccer club, has scored 23 goals in 7 games, while OSA FCT scored 20 goals in 5 games.

Now OSA FCT (4-1-0) is 5 points behind ISC Gunners (5-0-2),  with two less games played. The OSA women’s team has a chance to overtake Issaquah in the rankings in it’s next two games. This Friday and Saturday the girls will play a doubleheader in Oregon against the Eugene Timbers Azul (3-2-3) and the Portland Spartans (3-4-1), seeking 6 points.

OSA FCT will travel to Oregon on Friday morning to face what will be demanding back to back games. They will play Eugen Timbers Azul on Friday at 6pm and Portland Spartans on Saturday at 6pm. OSA women’s team won both the home games (3-1 against Eugene Timbers and 3-0 against Portland), but doesn’t underestimate the two opposing teams especially with the long trip they have to face to get to Eugene.

Back to last nights game….

The OSA club led the entire game by possessing the ball and dominating play. In the first half our girls took the lead thanks to goals by Courtney Moore and Jackie Corley.

In the second half, Abby McFaul scored OSA’s  third goal, and a few minutes later Fuerza FC was able to score their first goal, when our girls let down their guard.

OSA FCT continued playing and possessing the ball until Deborah Salvatori Rinaldi scored from an assist by Alia Guagni.

Then, Jackie Corley and Deborah Rinaldi each scored again to reach the final 8-1 score.
Jackie Corley had 4 goals, while Deborah Rinaldi had 2.

OSA FCT women’s team will practice again on Thursday night to review last nights game and to prepare for this weekends doubleheader, where they are looking for 6 points to take the conference lead.
