It was Seattle’s OSA FC who were victorious in last night’s Lamar Hunt US Open Cup match against the Sounders U-23. Some would say this makes them the kings of Seattle development soccer—others would say they are simply on their way to the next match of the tournament. The game was fought tooth and nail, but OSA always seemed to have the edge—showing their strength, skill, and desire to play for one another.
A worthy opponent, the Sounders U-23 team, was always there to keep things level and ultimately take the game to extra time and ultimately a penalty shootout. It was neck and neck until Sounders Macauley King attempted a cheeky shot down the middle which OSA goalie, Joshua Adachi, happily snatched up to take the first advantage of the game.
It was OSA midfielder Handwalla Bwana who sealed the deal with the final shot of the night to clinch victory for the team and begin the celebration!
The next match of the tournament will be against Reno 1868 FC next Wednesday the 17th at 7:30pm at Starfire Playfield.
