nikiNiki Bonnell and Arica Slawson have known each other for 7 years. Not because they met at Central Washington University where Arica attended or Washington State University where Niki attended, but within that time, the two kept running into each other playing for various teams, tournaments, and leagues within the Seattle area. For a few years, they consistently played together on the W- League area favorite, the Seattle Sounders Women. But, after a season of play with the ISC Gunners, Arica chose AC Seattle in its first WPSL year, and was one of not many American players on the roster. Arica thought it was a good move- winning the 2013 Evergreen Cup and the 2013 WPSL Northwest Conference– so in the following season, she decided to include Niki.

From then on, Arica and Niki have been the staple two for the OSA teams. From players, coaches for youth clinics, and 2015 Co-Captains for the women’s team, they have shown their value on and off the field and, most of all, their commitment to the OSA Group. In September 2015, the OSA Group offered the two women staff positions, which they gladly accepted and immediately turned focus on improvements for the women’s team. Adding to the OSA Group’s last two years of youth clinics, and AC Seattle and FC Tacoma 253 teams, they will be bringing their enthusiasm and training methodologies to the new youth academy. Early next year, they will collaborate again on the selection process for the 2016 OSA FC Women’s team tryouts.
